With all the ‘Dark Knight‘ propaganda these days, it’s refreshing to see another Knight coming along. Yesterday another step was taken to soon bring tourists into space. Not in a galaxy far far away, but here on our planet Earth.
Does that sound like Science Fiction to you? Jule Vernes anyone?
I would rather say so, if it wasn’t for entrepreneur Richard Branson behind it. He proved already during all his life, that one can fulfill his dreams, if you simply pursue them with enough determination. You can circumvent the globe in an Hot Air Balloon if you feel like it - right?

When setting off a long-term trip for the first time, it’s common for people to bring far more than they need; the uncertainty of what the trip may bring can lead to a mentality of packing things “just in case”, or for comfort.
I remember my first 2-week trip to Thailand, hundreds of full moons back; my backpack looked like the one to the right and embarrassingly I even brought socks for that expected cold night in the tropics. Ahem!

…that is called ECS G10IL. And what is that? The successor of R2D2?
No, it’s the new Netbook PC of Elitegroup with a strange name - it weighs less than 1 kg and it speaks 3G.
While Asus can lay claims of having invented a complete new line or range of small, budget notebooks - the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) or Netbooks - the fierce competition is currently heating up more and bringing out new and similar gadgets every week with better value for money or smaller form factors.

Many RTW (Round the World) Travelers have the problem of keeping track of their journeys around the planet.
Of course you will keep a notebook, write a blog, shoot thousands of photos or mark your tracks on a small world map you carry around with you.
That’s usually okay, but what if you have a hangover, get lost, laze too long at that paradise beach or even lose track of what day it is?
How good that modern technology can help you out to monitor your trips and display it in graphic ways in popular applications:

If you are traveling without your own laptop for an extended period of time - chances are you will use Computers in public Internet Cafes to stay in touch with loved ones and friends around the world.
Using a computer in any Internet Cafe in Shanghai, Vientiane or Fiji sounds like a comfortable form of getting things done, considered you have decent connection speed and bandwidth. Sure, sometimes those places feature outdated equipment and the comfort factor isn’t on par with your hotel room - but hey!
Unfortunately there are much darker dangers lurking in the shadows of those locations, some not clearly visible to the unsuspecting eye:

Traveling the world, most people take plenty of pictures, need access to their business or private contacts, want to make mid or long-term appointments, have to write letters to Visa or Immigration authorities or simply want to stay in touch with their loved ones.
While bringing a laptop or notebook computer is an option for many - most people refrain to do so, as they are quite bulky, can break down, get lost or stolen - all of which will cause havoc to your personal documents, private video or music collection and other valuable private data on it:

When I was going to Singapore for my bi-annual Visa Run last week, I brought my Laptop with me, because it showed occasionally some flickery display. Sometimes white colours would turn into green light shining through the LCD, pretty strange behavior. Looked like a cable inside the thing was loose or not properly installed. No problem, I thought - still warranty. Down at the Asus Service Center in ‘The Adelphi’, right next to Funan IT Mall, I unsuccessfully tried to to reproduce the Error for the Service Staff to see - when disaster stroke.
